Common Name: Kiwi, Chinese gooseberry.
 
Habit: A vine native to China the Kiwi is a vine which in good conditions can grow up to 4.5 x 7 x 3.5m requiring a trellis or some other form of support.
The large deep green leaves are oval in shape and new shoots are covered in fine red hairs.
Flowers:  White or cream blooms appear in spring and are 5cm in diameter. Kiwis only flower if they are at least 3 years of age, you have a male and a female plant (1 male to every 6 female) and the right amount of winter chill hours (between 0c and 7c).
Care: Kiwis like to be planted in decently rich soil with good drainage and regular watering. They require a sunny location with perhaps some afternoon sun in very hot locations.

طبيعة النبتة: تعتبر ذات أصول صينية. إذ تم العناية بها يمكن أن يصل طولها ل5م. قد تحتج لعامود خشبي لمساعدتها على التسلق.
 
طبيعة الزهرة: تزهر ورود صغيرة بيضاء بالربيع إذا كان عمر النبتة أكثر من 3 سنين.
العناية: يفضل تربة غنية وسقاية دورية ويفضل المناطق المشمسة ولكن لا يفضض الأشعة المباشرة.
