Common Name: Peruvian Lily
 
Habit: Alstromeria is a south american native bulb. The plant forms a clump of upright stems with mid-green lance shaped leaves. The foliage twists slightly as it grows from the stems.
Flowers:  Blooms occur in many different shades and appear in the summer on the ends of tall wiry stems. These clusters of 6 petaled flowers are excellent in floral arrangements.
Care: Soil needs to be moderately fertile and well draining, keep moist during the flowering season.  Any sunny position will do, take care to mulch well for the winter to insulate the roots from frosts.
