Common Name: Jersey or Belladonna Lily
 
Habit: Native to South Africa, Amaryllis is a perennial bulb with narry strappy leaves which appear after the flowers.
Flowers: Appearing in Autumn this plant sends up 1 or 2 erect leafless stems bearing between 2 and 12 showy pink flowers. The funnel shaped blooms reach 70cm tall.
Care:  Amaryllis plants grow fine in dry rocky soils and full sun. When planting, place the bulb with the top right at the surface of the soil. It is hardy to light frosts but if winters are harsh overwinter the bulbs to protect them.

طبيعة الزهرة: تظهر ورودها في فصل الخريف على ساق أو ساقين وتتميز بكثرتها حيث قد يصل عددها ل12 وردة تتجمل باللون الوردي.
العناية: لا تمانع التربة الصخرية وتحب المناطق التي تتعرض للكثير من الشمس. تتحمل القليل من الإنجماد ولكن يفضل حمايتها في المناطق التي تتعرض لظروف جوية قاسية في فصل الشتاء.
