Common Name: Asparagus fern
 
Habit: Asparagus fern is a South African native is a scrambling perennial with tough green stems reaching up to 1 meter. The foliage is fine giving it a feathery appearance and is a light green colour making it excellent in pots and planters indoors.
Flowers: From Spring to Autumn small, greenish, bell shaped flowers appear. These are followed by green berries which slowly turn black as they age. 
Care: Use a soil based potting mixture and repot into one size larger each spring until the required size is reached. Choose a location with plenty of light but out of direct sun as this will burn the leaves.  Actively water during the growing season just enough to keep the soil moist but not waterlog the plant. Reduce watering during the rest period. Fertilise with a liquid fertiliser every 2 weeks during the growing period.

طبيعة النبتة: تعتبر من أفضل النباتات التي تزرع في الداخل. تتميز بشكل أوراقها التي تبدو كالريش. قد يصل طول سيقانها لمتر.
طبيعة الزهرة: تزهر منذ فصل الربيع حتى فصل الخريف ورودا صغيرة خضراء اللون على شكل جرس تنمو لتصبح حبوبا سوداء.
العناية: تعتبر من النباتات سهلة العناية والتي تتحمل الجفاف. تفضل الكثير من الضوء ولكن لا تفضل أشعة الشمس المباشرة.
