Common Name: Butterfly Bush
 
Habit: Buddleia is a Chinese native, growing between 2 and 4 meters high and 4 meters wide. The leaves are large, narrow and lance shaped the undersides are pale and downy.
Flowers: Blooming time is Spring and summer, flowers are long panicles of tiny four petaled flowers. They are Butterfly attracting for adult butterflies, team up with a butterfly cultivator like milkweed to keep them coming back, the insects seeming to prefer the lavender/pink colours. 
Care: Buddleia can be planted into any sort of soil but moist fertile soil is important for flowering, once established they are drought tolerant. Plant in a full sun position if you do have some shade ensure the plant gets at least 6 hours of good sunshine to encourage flowers. Pruning off old wood as you go as the flowers grow on new growth and remember to deadhead as you go.
In the spring add 9cm or so of compost covered with mulch to retain moisture.

طبيعة الزهرة: تزهر في فصل الربيع والصيف. أزهارها تشبه السنابل ولكنها تنمو بألوانها الجميلة.
العناية: تفضل المناطق المشمسة وبعد نموها بفترة طويلة قد تتحمل الجفاف.
