Common Name: Common Box
 
Habit: Native to western and southern Europe and left alone can reach up to 9 meters tall. It does however make an excellent hedge or  topiary plant and can be kept in any size or shape. Leaves are yellow-green, oval and opposite on the stem. 
Flowers:  In the spring small inconspicuous flowers appear, these pale yellow flowers are fragrant and bee attracting.
Care: Soil needs to be an evenly moist, well drained loam which is slightly acidic or alkaline. Locate in part shade or at the very least afternoon shade. Keep trimmed to retain its shape but leave any winter pruning until after the last frost as the new growth will frostburn. An application of a good organic mulch is appreciated to protect the roots and retain moisture.

طبيعة النبتة: تتميز بكونها من النباتات التي يمكن إستخدام كشجيرة أو لزراعتها في قوار. تعرف أوراقها بشكلها البيضوي. قد يصل طولها ل9م. يمكن إستخدامها كحاجز.
طبيعة الزهرة: في فصل الربيع تزهر ورود صفراء صغيرة تعتبر غير مهمة تجذب النحل وتمتلك رائحة.
العناية: تفضل المناطق التي تتعرض لبعض الظل. يفضل تقليمها للمحافظة على شكلها يفضل عدم تقليمها في فصل الشتاء.
