Common Name: Judas Tree.
 
Habit:  This lovely little feature tree can also be used as a deciduous screen and grows up to 10 meters high. After flowering this deciduous tree produces very pretty heart shaped flowers which are a blue-green colour turning yellow in Autumn.
Flowers:  Early spring brings a spectacular display of purplish pink flowers which grow on year old growth or older. Blooms are followed by the foliage and long, flat, chocolate brown seed pods, these should be removed when the tree loses its leaves to improve flower production.
Care: Soil needs to be moist and well drained but otherwise the type is not important. Plant in full sun as this tree needs at least 6 hours of direct sunlight per day for best flowering. Once established this plant requires very little in the way of care and is reasonably drought tolerant.

طبيعة النبتة: قد يصل طولها ل10م. بعد إزهارها تظهر زهور جميلة على شكل قلب ذات اللون الأزرق والأخضر الذي يتحول للون الأصفر في فصل الخريف.
طبيعة الزهرة:  تظهر زهورها في أول فصل الربيع وتتميز بلونها الوردي المائل للبنفسجي الذي يظهر على الأشجار التي تزيد عمرها عن سنة.
العناية: تفضل الكثير من أشعة الشمس ولا تظهر أزهرها إلا إذا تعرضت للكمية الكافية من أشعة الشمس.
