Common Name: Butterfly Flower
 
Habit:  Native to Mexico the Cestrum is a fast growing shrub reaching up to 3 meters. The branches are arching and covered in velvety leaves, lance shaped and a mid green. Use gloves when pruning as the leaves have an unpleasant odour when crushed.
Flowers: From late summer through autumn clusters of tubular shaped blooms appear at the ends of the branches. Flowers are red to purple-red in colour and have a faint fragrance. 
Care:  Most soils are fine provided they are well drained. Locate in full sun with some shade in hotter areas. Cestrum is not frost tolerant so some care will need to be taken.  Prune after flowering to maintain shape.
Garden use:  Cottage garden, mixed borders, large containers.

طبيعة النبتة: تعرف بسرعة نموها وقد يصل طولها ل3م. تتشكل أغصانها شكل القوس. 
طبيعة الزهرة: تزهر من فصل الصيف لغاية فصل الخريف. تتميز ورودها بالون الذي يتراوح بين الأحمر والبنفسجي.
العناية: تفضل الأماكن التي تتعرض للكثير من أشعة أشعة الشمس والقليل من الظل. لا تتحمل الإنجماد. من الأفضل أن تقلم بعد إزهارها.
إستخداماتها في الحديقة: يمكن زراعتها في الحدائق المنزلية والحدود والأحواض الكبيرة.
