Common Name: Spider Plant
 
Habit: Native to the tropical regions of Australia and Asia the Chlorophytum is an indoor plant which can grow outdoors with some care. Reaching up to only 60cm tall, the leaves are slender up to 75cm long and a pale green with a white stripe going the length of the leaf.  It also produces small plantlets on long drooping stalks, which take root when they touch the ground to become a new plant.
Flowers:  Mature plants will produce small white flowers on long flower stems throughout the year.
Care: Spider plants are fine in regular potting soil in a bright area without direct sunlight. Water liberally during the summer months and mist occasionally.  Use a slow release fertiliser at the start of the growing season or a liquid fertiliser weekly. It does not like too much heat and is frost sensitive.

طبيعة النبتة: تزرع داخل المنزل يمكن زراعتها في الخارج ولكنها تتطلب الكثير من العناية. قد يصل طولها ل60سم. تتميز أوراقها بلونها الأخضر الفاتح الموشح باللون الأبيض على الأطراف. تتميز بنمو مجموعة من الأوراق الصغيرة من نهاية بعض أوراقها.
طبيعة الزهرة: قد تزهر ورودا بيضاء صغيرة خلال السنة.
العناية: تفضل المناطق التي تحصل على الكثير من الضوء ولكن لا تفضل أشعة الشمس المباشرة. لا تحب درجات الحرارة العالية ولا تحتمل الإنجماد.
