Common Name: Rock Rose
 
Habit: Rock rose grows up to 1meter tall and twice as wide. Leaves are evergreen, simple and opposite on the stem. The leaf surface is slight rough and reach up to 8cm long.
Flowers: Cistus is a summer flowering ground cover. Flowers grow singly on side shoots and last only one day however they are so prolific you can expect constant blooms for at least 3 weeks. The showy 5 petaled flowers in pink, purple and white, are thin and creased like tissue paper when they first unfold and have a conspicuous red spot at the base of each petal.  
Care: Cistus grows very well in stony soil, is fine in gravel borders and on banks or can be used in containers. Once established it is very hardy and drought tolerant, choose a site with plenty of direct sunlight in a sheltered position. Trim back after flowering but take care to not cut into old wood.

طبيعة الزهرة: تستنخدم كغطاء أرضي. تزهر في فصل الصيف. تدوم ورودها ليوم واحد ولكنها سريعة النمو.
العناية: تعرف بتحملها للجفاف وقدرتها على التكيف في أي تربة تزرع بها.
