Common name: Cosmos
 
Habit: Cosmos plants have fine ferny leaves creating a pretty, lacy statement in the garden. Cosmos Sonata Dwarf reaches 30cm tall and 30cm across making them excellent edging plants.
Flowers:  In the warmer months stems produce large daisy like flowers in pinks and whites. Deadhead or cut flowers to encourage more blooms. Leave a few flowers on the plant to allow the plant to self seed if required.
Care: Cosmos thrive in hot, dry conditions and do well in poor to average soil, rich fertile soil will cause them to grow taller and fall over. Water regularly but take care not to overwater as this will inhibit flowering, as will overfertilising.
