Common Name: Rock Cotoneaster
 
Habit:  Native to western China, this low growing shrub reaches only 1 meter tall but has a spread 2 meters. The foliage on this deciduous plant is very attractive, flat symmetrical sprays of glossy green, round leaves turning bright reds and oranges in Autumn.
Flowers: In the summer, Cotoneaster produces sprays of pink or white flowers which give way to bright red berries in Autumn that last through Winter
Care:  Preferring moderately fertile, well drained soil Cotoneaster can grow in either full sun or partial shade. Otherwise it is not a demanding plant, it can tolerate wet winters and dry summers, needing only pruning to keep tidy and remove damaged branches.
Garden Use:  A valuable landscape plant with interest all year, use on banks and slopes to assist erosion control or over rocks and rock walls in rockery gardens.

طبيعة النبتة: لا يتعدى طولها المتر ولكن قد يبلغ عرضها مترين. تتساقط أوراقها في بعض فصول السنة. تتميز الأوراق بلونها الأخضر اللامع.
طبيعة الزهرة: تزهر في فصل الصيف ورودا بيضاء ووردية تتحول لحبوب حمراء بعد إنتهاء إزهارها في الخريف.
العناية: تفضل الأماكن التي تتعرض للكثير من الشمس أو بعض الظل. يمكن تحملها لفصل الصيف الجاف.
إستخداماتها في الحديقة: يمكن زراعتها قرب المنحدرات وفي مجموعات. تساعد على منع التعرية. يمكن زراعتها بالقرب من المناطق الصخرية.
