Common Name: Papyrus Sedge
 
Habit: An african native papyrus is a tender perennial forming tall reed like vegetation in shallow water. Growing up to 5m high this robust aquatic plant forms a clump of triangular green stems, at the top of each is a dense cluster of fine stems up to 30cm long. 
Flowers: Greenish brown flower clusters can appear at the ends of the stems giving way to brown nut-like seeds
Care: Easy to grow, papyrus grass prefers full sun though it can cope with a little shade. If not submerged this plant needs to remain moist, it does not like dry soil or frosts. All you need to do is remove broken or dead stems and apply a balanced fertiliser in the spring.
