Common Name:  Common Broom
 
Habit:  Native to western and central Europe, the broom is a perennial shrub growing up to 2 meters tall. It is multi-stemmed and can be deciduous, the upright branches are sparsely covered with 1.5cm leaflets similar to alfalfa.
Flowers: In the spring and summer a profuse display of golden yellow flowers are followed by seed pods which are black when mature. The flowers are fragrant and bee attracting.
Care: Soil should be moderately fertile and well drained with a dry to medium moisture content. they are drought tolerant and grow well in rocky soil. Plant in full sun and prune before seed pods are mature to prevent the plant becoming invasive.

طبيعة الزهرة: تزهر بشكل كثيف في فصل الصيف ورودا صفراء ذهبية خلابة ذات رائحة عبقة تتحول لبذور سوداء.
العناية: تفضل المناطق التي تتعرض للكثير من أشعة الشمس. تعرف بتحملها للجفاف. يفضل إزالة الورد الميت قبل تحوله لبذور لأن ذلك يصعب من التحكم بالنبتة.
