Common Name: Moon flower
 
Habit: A native to South America the Datura is an extremely fast growing large shrub or small tree with semi-woody often many branched trunks reaching up to 8m tall. The leaves are lobed and lightly furred, they grow alternate on the stems and get up to 20cm long and 18cm wide. 
Flowers: Blooms, which are fragrant particularly at night grow up to 20cm long and 12cm across at the mouth. The downward hanging trumpet shaped flowers are generally white but can also come in yellow, purple, lavender and red.
Care: Plant into rich, fertile soil which is well draining and ensure regular watering. Locate in full sun, planting in the shade will make the plant leggy and reduce flowering. In mild climates Datura will lose its leaves in winter then come back in spring. This plant is extremely fast growing and can reach full height in a season if cared for properly.

طبيعة الزهرة: تزهر ورودا معطرة تظهر رائحتها في المساء. قد يصل طولها تقريبا ل20 سم. تعرف ورودها بشكلها الشبيه بالبوق ولونها الأبيض ولكن أحيانا تنمو باللون الأصفر أو البنفسجي أو الأزرق أو الأحمر.
العناية: تحب المناطق المشمسة. من الممكن أن تتساقط أوراقها في فصل الشتاء البارد ولكنها تعود في الربيع. قد تصل إلى طولها الكامل بفصل واحد لأنها سريعة النمو.
