Common Name: Kidney weed
 
Habit: Native to New Zealand and parts of Australia the Dichondra is a small prostrate plant reaching only 10cm high. The leaves are green and kidney shaped. Its low habit makes it useful as a lawn substitute or as a contrast between pavers.
Flowers:  Mostly appearing in spring and summer the flowers are small and yellow/green in colour.
Care:  Soil needs to be clod free, loose and well drained, ensure to clear the area of weeds before planting. Locate in full sun or part shade, once established it only needs infrequent deep watering and can be treated similar to lawn.

طبيعة النبتة: من أشهر النباتات المتمددة. يصل طولها ل10سم ولكن قد يصل عرضها لمتر. تتميز أوراقها بلونها الأخضر وشكلها. لأنها لا تعتبر من النباتات الطويلة يمكن إستخدامها بدل النجيل أو لزراعتها بين اللأرصفة.
طبيعة الزهرة: عادة تظهر في فصل الصيف أو الربيع ورودا صغيرة تميل للون الأصفر أو الأخضر.
العناية: تفضل أن تزرع في منطقة تتعرض لأشعة الشمس أو بعض الظل. تعتبر من النباتات التي تتحمل الجفاف ودرجات الحرارة العالية. تفضل الحصول على الكثير من الماء عند سقايتها.
