Common Name: Dumb Cane
 
Habit: Native to central and south America the Dieffenbachia has straight stems and simple alternate leaves which have white spots and flecks making it very attractive inside the home. Their size depends on the pot you use, a smaller pot will produce a smaller plant but if given a larger container Dieffenbachia can reach up to 1.5 meters tall.
Flower:  These appear rarely when grown indoors but when they do the bloom is a green spathe which resembles an unfolding leaf and is long lived. 
Care:  Use a well draining soil and water lightly, keeping it moist but not too wet, overwatering is often a problem for these plants.  Place in a location with filtered light, they also do well in low light situations but this will slow their growth. Use a 20-20-20 fertiliser lightly every 4-6 weeks during the growing season.

طبيعة النبتة: من النباتات الموشحة تتميز سيقانها بشكلها القائم تتمير أوراقها بلونها الأخضر والأبيض. تعتمد أوراقها على حجم القوار حيث قد يصل حجم أوراقها ل1.5م إذا زرعت في حوض كبير.
طبيعة الزهرة: نادرا ما تزهر إذا تم زراعتها داخل المنزل وإذا أزهرت تزهر وردة خضراء على شكل ورقة غير متفتحة.
العناية: تفضل المناطق المضيئة ويمكن أن تنمو في المناطق التي تتعرض للقليل من الضوء ولكن ذلك سيأثر على عملية نموها.
