Common Name: African Iris
 
Habit:  This South African native has long, rigid and swordlike green leaves grow up from the base of the plant in a clumping habit. The leaves are narrower than other varieties and tend to arch more. They look great as a mass planting and work well for erosion control.
Flowers:  In spring and summer blooms appear on long spikes, These flowers are yellow, marked with three dark purple spots outlined in orange and are followed by 5cm long, green capsules which are full of dark brown seeds.
Care: Dietes will grow in dappled shade to full sun where they produce the best flowers. They are both frost and drought hardy and take very little in the way of care.

طبيعة النبتة: تعرف هذه النبتة بأوراقها الطويلة القائمة ذات اللون الأخضر التي تنمو من أساس النبتة والتي تشبه السيف. من الأفضل زرع كمية كبيرة مع بعضعا لأن ذلك يجعل النبتة أقوى.
طبيعة الزهرة: تزهر في فصل الربيع والصيف وروردا بيضاء محددة باللون الأصفر والبنفسجي. بعد الإزهار تنتج حبوب خضراء مليئة ببذور بنية غامقة.
العناية: من الممكن أن تنمو في المناطق التي لا تتعرض لأي أشعة شمس ولكنها تفضل الشمس لأن ذلك يساعدها على الإزهار. تعرف بسهولة الإعتناء بها وبتحملها للجفاف والإنجماد.
