Common Name: Lucky Bamboo

Habit: Native to tropical west Africa the Dracaena is not a bamboo despite its common name.  This small shrubby plant reaches up to 1.5 meters tall with strappy leaves reaching 25cm long.
Flowers:  Blooms are white, fluffy and extremely rare so it is unlikely you will see one.
Care:  Ensure soil in the pot is kept moderately moist and keep the plant somewhere with indirect light to prevent burning. Fertiliser can be applied every month or two, the leaves will turn yellow if it's being overfertilised.
Dracaena can be grown entirely in water. Keep the roots completely submerged at all times and completely change the water every couple of weeks to prevent it becoming stagnant. The water needs to be filtered or fresh rainwater as tap water often has flouride or has been treated with chlorine which can damage the plant.
