Common Name: Bush Cherry, Lilly Pilly
 
Habit:  This Australian Native tree usually grows up to 3-5 meters tall although they can grow taller with the right conditions.  The leaves are a bright glossy green and emerge from the stems each pair on opposite sides.
Flowers: Blooms are fluffy white clusters appearing in spring and are followed by pink fruit which are edible fresh or as a jam.
Care:  LillyPillys are a tropical plant and are sensitive to extreme cold however they can survive light frost, alternatively they can be grown in pots to be kept or moved indoors. Use a large pot with plenty of drainage and a good potting soil with sand added. Fertilise in spring and repot every 3 or so years, keep pruned to retain compact shapes and situate in a sunny position.
When planting outdoors dig a hole twice the size of the root ball, ensure plenty of mulch in the soil and an addition of bonemeal would be beneficial. Keep well watered until established.
