Habit:  A small deciduous shrub or tree this Mediterranean native is one of the oldest cultivated trees in human history.  Reaching up to 10m in height the trunk and branches tend to droop as the plant grows so will need some pruning, the leaves appear in late spring and have between 3 and 7 lobes.
Flowers: The flowers are small and insignificant, followed by fruits which are purple/brown skinned with a pink flesh. This vigorous plan usually produces a heavy crop.
Care: Figs prefer a well drained soil with plenty of organic matter, they like a dry almost Mediterranean style summer and a bi-annual dose of an organic fertiliser.
Figs do not like extreme or prolonged cold, when temperatures drop below -9c mulch well or cover the tree with fabric, if grown in a container move indoors.

طبيعة الزهرة: تزهر ورود صغيرة غير مهمة تنمو لتصبح الفاكهة. تعرف بإنتاجها الوفير.
العناية: لا تحب الطقس البارد. تفضل التربة الجافة.
