Common Name: Ivy
 
Habit:  Hedera is a woody climber grown generally for its distinctive lobed foliage. They are great for walls, trellises or as a ground cover. Ivy has aerial roots which allow it to cling to almost any surface and as a ground cover they are wonderful for erosion control.
Flowers: Blooms appear in Autumn and early winter, they are greenish-yellow with 5 small petals and form in umbels. After flowering the fruit is a greenish-black or dark purple berry 1cm in diameter.
Care: Plant into Fertile, moist hummus soil that is well drained.  A part to full shade position is required and if winters are very cold Ivy is prone to winter burn in a sunny location.

طبيعة النبتة: من أشهر المتسلقات. تزرع عادة لجمال أوراقها وأشكالها المتعددة. تستخدم كغطاء أرضي ولتغطية المعرشات والجدران. نظام جذورها يساعدها على التسلق على أي شيء وإذا أستخدمت كغطاء أرضي تساعد على التخلص من مشكلة تعرية التربة.
طبيعة الزهرة: تظهر الزهور في فصل الخريف لبداية فصل الشتاء وتتحول لحبوب بنفسجية داكنة بعد الإزهار
العناية: تفضل المناطق المظلة أو التي تتعرض للقليل من أشعة الشمس.
