Common Name: Bizzy Lizzy
 
Habit: Impatiens are a bright and cheerful annual that makes an excellent houseplant or a beautiful bedding plant. Soft fleshy stems are erect and covered in simple, pointed lance shaped leaves. Planting them close together will encourage them to grow taller, up to 75cm.
Flowers:  Blooms appear throughout the year and come in many different colours. They have 5 petals, an upper standard and the lower 4 fused into two. Flowers are followed by seed pods which eject seeds at the slightest touch.
Care:  Impatiens love shade and moisture, if you want to grow them in the sun they need to be gradually introduced over the course of a week. Before planting mix compost or slow release fertiliser through the soil and for container plants use a very light well draining mix.  Impatiens do not like to be waterlogged but they do need 5cm of water per week and double that if temperatures reach above 29deg C, if grown in containers water daily or if temperatures are above 29deg C twice daily.

العناية: تفضل المناطق المظلة ولكن قد تنمو في المناطق التي تتعرض للقليل من الشمس.
