Common Name: Bearded Iris
Habit: Leaves are grey/green sword shaped and long with no stems rising directly from the base of the plant.
Flowers: The blooms are the highlight of this bulb, rising above the plant in late spring and during summer. They each have 6 petals, 3 pointing up and three down to form the 'beard', they come in a variety of colours and are sometimes fragrant.
Care: They prefer humus rich well drained soil and a sunny position for best flowering. They do better when mulched and care needs to be taken not to over water.
