Common Name: Cumquat
 
Habit: This lovely compact tree has been cultivated in China for around 3000 years. It grows up to just 3m high and 90cm across making it excellent for small gardens or containers. The leaves are a dark glossy green on dense branches, occasionally with thorns.
Flowers: In the spring, the plant puts on a display of fragrant white flowers similar to citrus. The fruit are small and orange, eaten with the rind still on they are both sweet and tart at the same time.
Care: Soil needs to be well drained but otherwise any type of soil is fine. Keep soil moist around young trees using mulch to assist, once they mature watering during dry spells is all that is needed. Do not fertilise for the first couple of months and after use a citrus fertiliser following the instructions.

طبيعة النبتة: مناسبة جدا لزراعة في الحدائق الصغيرة أو الأحواض. قد يصل طولها ل3م. أوراقها خضراء داكنة لامعة وأغصانها عادة تكون شائكة. 
طبيعة الزهرة: تزهر ورودا بيضاء معطرة في فصل الربيع . تتميز فاكهتها بحجمها الصغير ولونها البرتقاليز تؤكل بقشرها ويتميز طعمها بأنه حلو والاذع في نفس الوقت.
العناية: من الممكن زراعتها في أي تربة. لا تحتاج للكثير من الماء بعد نموها.
