Common Name: Tree Mallow
 
Habit:  Growing 1 meter by 1meter Lavatera is an impressive shrubby plant with rich deep green foliage, the leaves are lobed and spirally arranged.
Flowers: From Midsummer to first frost, satiny hibiscus like blooms are produced. These flowers are around 10cm across and come in shades from white and very pale pink to deep rose with delicate contrasting veining.
Care:  Lavatera grows best in full sun but can tolerate a little shade. It grows in any kind of soil providing it is well drained, sandy or loam is best. Lavatera is drought tolerant but benefits from watering during very hot, dry periods, it will drop its flowers if the soil becomes completely dry. Once a month add a little general purpose fertiliser and deadhead to promote flowers leaving a few on the plant at the end of the season to allow self seeding.

طبيعة الزهرة: تزهر من منتصف فصل الصيف لبداية الإنجماد. تتميز ورودها بشكلها الشبيه بوردة الهيبسكس. يبلغ حجمها تقريبا 10سم وتنمو بدرجات مختلفة من اللون الأبيض والوردي.
العناية: تفضل المناطق التي تتعرض للكثير من الشمس ويمكن تحملها للقليل من الظل. تتحمل الجفاف وتفضل الماء في الأيام الحارة. قد تبدأ في تساقط ورودها عند جفاف التربة بشكل كامل. إزالة الورد الميت يساعدها على الإزهار بشكل أكثر. يحبذ ترك بعض الورود الميتة عليها في نهاية الموسم لأن ذلك يساعدها على النمو من بذورها.
