Common Name: Sweet Alyssium
 
Habit:  Growing to only 30cm high and 45cm wide this ground cover has lance shaped narrow leaves in a grey-green covered in fine hairs.
Flowers: In late spring you should see an profusion of tiny scented flowers which form round flower 'heads' all over the plant in shades of white, purple, apricot and pink. Prune the plant back by 1/3 after the first flush of bloom to ensure more colour which will continue until frost.
Care: Plant in full sun ensuring solid is well drained, with medium moisture for best performance water regularly. They are very low maintenance and reasonably drought tolerant, though some shade during the hottest part of the day would be helpful.
