Common Name: Blue potato bush
 
Habit: Native to South America Lycianthes has grey-brown arching branches which will grow up to 3 meters high and wide if left unchecked. Generally it is pruned into a smaller shape and is even kept trained as a standard plant.  The dark green leaves are oval, opposite and around 15cm long creating a dense cover especially in full sun. 
Flowers:  During the warmer months this plant is covered in a mass of deep violet blue flowers with yellow centres. These blooms group at the leaf axis of the plant.
Care: Plant into a well draining soil and ensure it is not allowed to dry out, increase watering during the warmer months.  Apply a slow release fertiliser in the spring just before new growth appears, if planted in a container apply a liquid 10-10-10 fertiliser once a month.

طبيعة الزهرة: تزهر في الفصول الدافئة ورودا ذات لون بنفسجي رائع.
العناية: تفضل الكثير من اّشعة الشمس. لا تحتاج للكثير من العناية. قد تنمو في المناطق التي تتعرض لبعض الظل.
