Common Name: Australian Finger Lime
 
Habit: This Australian native tree grows up to 6m tall. It has spines up to 2.5cm long which make it a good bird habitat. 
Flowers: Blooms appear in late summer and Autumn, are white or pale pink and up to 1.4cm in diameter.  They are followed by long fruit which may be green, yellow, black, purple or red which ripen through winter and spring, each contains a pulp that resembles caviar in green yellow or pink. Perfect in summer drinks over ice.
Care:  Plant in full sun or dappled light in a protected position so the thorns do not damage the fruit.  Place in fertile well composted soil and lightly compost in Spring. Frequently water when the weather is warm and less often in the colder months. Allow fruit to ripen before picking as they will not ripen once off the tree.
