Common Name: Olive
Habit: A Mediterranean native the olive tree is evergreen, short and squat reaching no more than 15m tall with a gnarled twisted trunk. The foliage is silvery green and oblong shaped 10cm by 3cm. These trees prune well into decorative shapes and make a lovely decorative tree in the garden.
Flowers: Racemes of feather white flowers appear on the previous years wood followed by green to purple fruit.
Care: Olive plants do very well with long, hot, dry summers and cool winters. Locate in full sun where the tree can get 6hrs of sunlight in a day, protect from harsh winds. Plant in well drained fertile soil for best harvest, if planting into pots use a good quality mix.  Use a well balanced fertiliser in early spring and late summer.

طبيعة الزهرة: تظهر ورودا بيضاء تتحول إلى ثمر أخضر أو بنفسجي.
العناية: تفضل المناطق التي تتعرض للكثير من أشعة الشمس المحمية من الرياح الشديدة.
