Common Name: Weeping Willow
 
Habit: Native to northern china the weeping willow grows up to 15m in height and has a spreading tendency. The leaves are narrow, lance shaped and around 15cm long on branches with a weeping habit drooping down to ground level. In Autumn, the leaves turn yellow and fall. In the winter time, the bark is a reddish brown.
Flowers:  The blooms appear in spring and are a soft downy, hanging flower spikes followed by a small under 2cm brown seed capsule.
Care:  Willows adore water so plant away from sewers or water lines as the root systems will reach toward them and can cause damage.  They love to be planted in full sun with their feet wet, so do very well by lakes and rivers. Keep in mind they do reach a good size so need plenty of room given they are also fairly fast growing. Keep a close eye on the branches, as the tree ages they tend to crack and fall especially in zones with ice and snow.

طبيعة النبتة: قد يصل طولها ل15م. يتميز ورقها بشكله الشبيه بالرمح والذي يبلغ طوله ل15سم. تتميز أغصانها بإنحنائها حيث أنها قد تصل إلى الأرض. في فصل الخريق تتحول أوراقها للون الأصفر وتتساقط.
طبيعة الزهرة: تظهر في فصل الربيع. وتعرف بطبيعتها المتدلية.
العناية: تعرف بحبها للماء لذلك يجب زرعها بعيدا عن أي مواسير مائية أو بئر لأن الجذور قد تصل إليهم. تفضل المناطق المشمسة ويجب زرعها في منطقة مفتوحة لأنها تنمو بشكل كبير. تحب أن تزرع بالقرب من نهر أو بحيرة.
