Common Name: Sweet Pea
 
Habit: Sweet Pea plants are excellent climbers for fences and trellises. The foliage is in the form of two leaflets with a tendril which is used to assist the plant in climbing.  Allow 2 meters of climbing room, some varieties can reach up to 3 meters.
Flowers:  Fragrant blooms appear for a month is spring, they are long stemmed sprays of fluted and ruffled pink or purple flowers.
Care: Prepare a well drained, alkaline soil with good compost before planting out. Water regularly but do not overwater, once established mulch well to retain moisture and keep roots cool.
Sweet Peas are happiest with their heads in the sun and their roots deep in cool soil, plant low growing annuals in front of them to shade the roots. When temperatures get above 18c they start to fade.

طبيعة النبتة: تعتبر من أفضل المتسلقات. يعتبر الورق العامل الرئيسي في مساعدة النبتة على التسلق. قد يصل طولها ل2م.
طبيعة الزهرة: تزهر لمدة شهر واحد في فصل الربيع. تتميز ورودها بلونها الوردي أو البنفسجي.
العناية: تفضل جذورها التربة الباردة أو التي لا تتعرض للكثير من أشعة الشمس ولكن تفضل النبتة أن تتعرض للشمس لذلك يمكن زراعتها ثم زراعة بعض الحوليات بالقرب منها لحماية جذورها.
