Common Name: African Marigold
 
Habit:  Native to Mexico and central America Tagetes is a Summer flowering annual growing up to 1m tall and around half a meter wide.  Leaves are bright green and ferny. The root systems are toxic to harmful root nematodes and the effect lasts after the plant is removed. Planting in vegetable gardens will deter insects, rabbits and deer making them a useful companion plant.
Flowers:  Blooming begins in early summer and lasts until frost. Flowers are yellow to orange and are large being 15cm across, regular deadheading will ensure plenty of colour.
Care: African Marigold is reasonably tolerant of hot dry conditions and actually seem to prefer poor soil, they will however thrive in well drained fertile soil.

طبيعة الزهرة: تبدأ إزهارها من بداية فصل الصيف حتى بداية الإنجماد. ورودها تعرف بلونيها المميزين الأصفر أو البرتقالي.
العناية: تفضل المناطق المشمسة. يمكنها تحمل الجفاف البسيط.
