Common Name: Blue Trumpetvine
 
Habit: Native to northern India, this fast growing climber can reach heights over 10 meters unless kept trimmed. The lush foliage is made up of rough, leathery, heart shaped leaves on short stalks.
Flowers:  Summer brings a profusion of flowers on new growth creating a colourful statement on arbors, trellises and walls. The blooms are trumpet shaped, pale blue on the petals with a white throat.
Care: Soil needs to be well draining and organically rich. Locate in full sun and provide a trellis or arbor for the plant to grow over. Once established Thunbergia is drought tolerant although it does do better with some watering. It loves the heat but can survive winters down to -9 deg C if mulched to protect the roots. Prune in spring to shape and remove damaged foliage.
It also makes an easy and attractive container plant. Simply use a fertile and well draining soil and position by a window where it can get a lot of sun, you can then move the container outside into a sunny position.

طبيعة الزهرة: تزهر في فصل الصيف بشكل كثيف مما يضفي منظرا خلابا على النبتة ورودا تتميز بشكلها ولونها الأزرق الفاتح ومنتصفها الأبيض.
العناية: تفضل المناطق التي تحصل على العديد من أشعة الشمس. تعتبر من النباتات التي تتحمل الجفاف ولكنها تنمو بشكل أفضل إذا تم سقايتها. تفضل المناطق ذات درجات الحرارة العالية ولكنها تتحمل الشتاء البارد. يفضل تقليمها بالربيع وإزالة الأغصان الميتة. يمكن زراعتها في قواوير.
