Common Name: Garden Thyme
 
Habit:  Thyme is native to southern europe and is a busy ground cover 30cm by 40cm forming a dense mat of small grey-green leaves up to 8mm long. The leaves have many culinary uses and are great both dried and fresh. To get the best flavour harvest just before flowering.
Flowers: Blooms appear from late spring to mid summer and are tiny, round clusters in pink, white and purple creating a showy blanket of colour.
Care:  Plant in a sunny position choosing soil that is well drained, this herb thrives in hot climates and doesn't need a lot of attention watering only when the soil is dry. During winter it can go dormant but returns with the warmer weather

طبيعة النبتة: تستخدم كغطاء أرضي. قد يصل طولها ل30سم وعرضها ل40سم. تعرف بإستخدامتها العديدة وإستخدامها بالطهي. تكون النكهة أقوى إذا تم قطف الأوراق قبل إزهارها.
طبيعة الزهرة: تظهر في اّخر فصل الربيع لمنتصف فصل الصيف في مجموعات صغيرة بالون الوردي و البنفسجي والأبيض.
العناية: تفضل المناطق المشمسة وتعرف بحبها للمناطق الحارة.
