Common Name: Yucca
 
Habit:  The Yucca plant with it's sharp sword like leaves adds a distinctive look to any area.  Growing up from the base of the plant the large leaves can reach up to 7 meters long bringing the plant to 1meter wide.
Flowers:  Mid to late summer a flower stalk appears producing a beautiful spray of flowers like upturned tulips. These blooms are creamy, slightly greenish, fragrand and the petals are edible.
The petals (removed from the rest of the flower) can be used in omlettes for breakfast, in soups or battered and fried.
Care:  Yucca plants need full sun and are very forgiving about what type of soil they are planted in provided it is well drained. Choose a location away from paths as the leaves are very sharp. Yucca plants are cold tolerant down to -12degC. In the spring cut off old dead leaves to keep the plant fresh.

طبيعة الزهرة: تزهر من منتصف فصل الصيف لأخره ورودا مقلوبة جذابة تنمو باللون الأبيض الكريمي المائل للأخضر ذات رائحة مميزة قابلة للأكل.
العناية: يمكن زراعتها في أي تربة. تفضل المناطق التي تتعرض للكثير من أشعة الشمس. تعرف بتحملها للمناطق الباردة. يفضل إزالة الأوراق الميتة في فصل الربيع للمحافظة على شكل النبتة.
