If you have a space in your garden needing just the right plant you can’t go past the Coleus for versatility and range of colour.

Coleus plants come in amazing variety of sizes from trailing ground covers

to large shrubs, each available in a range of colours. Trailing Coleus grows between 30 and 50cm high and can trail up to 2 meters across. Use as a colourful groundcover, along walls and terraces to soften edges or in pots and planters for your terrace or balcony. Combine with other larger plants to compliment or contrast colour combinations. Midsize Coleus tend to form dense bushy mounds reaching up to 60cm tall a slightly wider, they are lovely as an accent plant or to add a splash of colour among greenery filling in any gaps you may have.

Taller varieties can reach up to around 80cm tall and tend to be less wide than the medium. They make an excellent backdrop or specimen plant in the

garden with their striking colours balanced against

more muted tones.

Coleus plants are very easy to grow, they need fertile and well-draining soil, doing their best in partial shade. Coleus are very fast growing plants, put several together to quickly create a colourful display. Keep your plants watered especially in containers where they are more prone to dry out. They are highly susceptible to cold and so they need to be either treated as annuals, overwintered indoors or grown as an indoor plant.
